Sharon Koenig
Chief Financial Officer

Sharon Koenig, CPA is Chief Financial Officer at E Technologies Group. Sharon has over 30 years of experience in finance, serving as CFO for private-equity-owned companies since 2014.

Koenig received an undergraduate degree from Indiana University Bloomington, an MBA from DePaul University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is based in Detroit, Michigan.

Matt Wise
Chief Executive Officer

Matt Wise is CEO of E Technologies Group. Matt has over 20 years of experience in executive leadership, most recently serving as CEO for Fisher Unitech, one of the largest resellers of 3D printers and 3D design software in North America. His well-rounded industry experience includes advanced manufacturing, software, digital marketing and advertising.

Born in Alabama, Matt has lived throughout the United States, including Connecticut, San Francisco, Kansas City, Chicago, Iowa and Ohio. He holds an M.B.A. in International Marketing and Finance from DePaul Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Iowa. Matt is currently a board member for Teach for America Detroit and an advisory board member for the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts. He lives in the Detroit, Michigan area with his family.

Stephen Veldhuis, PE
Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder, Board Member

 

Steve Veldhuis is Chief Technologies Officer (CTO), co-founder and board member at E Technologies Group. As CTO, Steve is responsible for charting E Technologies’ internal and line-of-business technology strategies, along with the company’s critical technology innovations.

His expertise in architecting and integrating software platforms in the area of advanced control and connected enterprise systems provides Steve the opportunity to work closely with E Technologies’ customers and partners as a Principal Architect and Lead Consultant. Steve has executed projects all over the world and is considered an expert in software architecture and design in process controls. Experience includes distributed control systems, PLC, advanced SCADA and enterprise systems.

Internally, Steve is responsible for technology infrastructures, business systems, engineering work processes, technical and product roadmaps; including efforts to develop new breakthrough technologies and software for the Industrial Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced simulation, robotics, augmented reality, and human computer interaction.

Prior to taking on an exclusive CTO position, Steve held a combined role as both the CTO and CFO.

With over 35 years’ experience in systems integration and engineering, Steve began his career as an automation engineer with Belcan Engineering, providing electrical design and software development before founding E-Technologies Group with Doug Fagaly in 1993.

In addition to serving on the board of E Technologies Group, Steve also serves as a board member for ContactCI an augmented and virtual reality company focusing on haptic and motion capture. Steve also holds an interest and advisory positions with ETS, a technology services placement company; SAVMAR, an asset investment company and SAVMAR Development a land development company.

Steve received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at the University of Cincinnati in 1987 and an MBA with Summa Cum Laude Honors also from the University of Cincinnati. Steve is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio.

Steve is married with 2 children and lives in Cincinnati where he was born and raised.

Fred Fontaine
President, Strategic Industries

Fred Fontaine is President of Strategic Industries, leading the Mission Critical, Parcel, Consumer Products and Food & Bev Centers of Excellence. Prior to this role, Fred was an Executive Vice President & General Manager as well as Chief Commercial Officer. He began with Glenmount Global in 2013 as the Vice President of Sales.

Before joining Glenmount Global, Fred was the Director of Sales at Rockwell Software, part of Rockwell Automation specializing in Hybrid Nonlinear Neural Network Model Predictive Control. Previously, Fred served as Manager of North American Field Operations for Honeywell’s Continuous Web Solutions Group and held positions of increasing responsibility from Field Service Engineer for the Barber Colman Company to Area Manager in Industrial Automation & Controls with The Measurex Corporation.

Fred is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and still actively volunteers with various veterans’ organizations & charities. He and his wife have three sons, two of whom are currently serving in the US Marine Corps. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and previously studied Electronics Engineering Technology at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.

Rick Pierro
President of Life Sciences Center of Excellence, Board Member

Rick Pierro is co-founder and president of Superior Controls, now the Life Sciences Center of Excellence of the E Technologies Group company, and has over thirty years of control systems experience. As president, Mr. Pierro is responsible for the leadership and management of both Superior Controls and Banks Integration, comprising 135 experienced automation engineers located in Boston, MA, Albany, NY, South San Francisco, CA, and Vacaville, CA.

Mr. Pierro has served as president of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) Boston Area Chapter and has served for many years on the ISPE Board of Directors as Chairman of Student Affairs and Chairman of the International Membership Committee. He is currently a trustee for the New Hampshire High Technology Council, chairman of the Board of Advisors for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell Engineering Department, and serves on the Board of Advisors of the University of New Hampshire Chemical Engineering Department. Mr. Pierro’s longtime support of the UMass Lowell Francis College of Engineering earned him the “Francis College Distinguished Engineering Award.”
In addition, Mr. Pierro serves on the Board of Directors of Acumentrics Corporation, a leading rugged battery development and manufacturing company, E-Trolz, Inc., a leading provider of technology for electrophysiological medical devices, Mirtle Medical, a leading manufacturer of EKG diagnostic devices used in the MRI environment, and serves as Chairman of the Board of Mind Child Medical, a leading neonatal EKG medical device manufacturer.

Prior to co-founding Superior Controls, Mr. Pierro held various positions in project engineering, sales, and sales management. His work experiences include serving as an automation engineer at a systems integrator where he designed and implemented PLC-based control systems for the chemical and food and beverage industries.

Mr. Pierro graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Chemistry in 1981 and received his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lowell in 1983. He researched and wrote his thesis on the testing of advanced PID tuning techniques for process control applications, and also taught several process control courses. He later completed several business courses at Harvard Business School. He is a frequent guest speaker on topics ranging from biotech automation, batching, cell and gene therapy, and FDA validation requirements such as 21CFR Part 11, Process Analytical Technology, GAMP.
Mr. Pierro lives in Hampton Falls, NH with his wife, Eileen and three children and enjoys skiing, running, and boating.

Gary Powell
Vice President of Life Sciences Center of Excellence

Gary Powell is Vice President of Banks Integration Group and the Life Sciences Center of Excellence for E Technologies Group. Gary has more than 20 years of leadership experience with Banks Integration, and has previously held positions as Director of Operations, Business Unit Manager, Engineering Manager and Senior Project Manager. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Gary has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and has achieved his professional engineer’s license in the state of California. Gary is a member of the Leadership Board of the University of California, Davis in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering. Gary began his career at Pacific Gas and Electric, where he was introduced to control systems.

Brad Hendrickson
Executive Vice President, Metals Center of Excellence

Bradly Hendrickson is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Glenmount Global Solutions’ Midwest Region, responsible for the leadership of the Metals Center of Excellence for E Technologies Group. With over 25 years of leadership experience with the company, Bradly has been responsible for the organic creation, growth, and execution of the GGS Metals Industry business. During his long tenure with the company, Bradly has served in a variety of managerial roles including Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of Technology and Vice President of Glenmount Global Solutions.

Bradly graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Technology. Bradly lives in Crown Point, Indiana and enjoys running, and spending time with friends and family.
